Orutindo center in Rushooka
Orutindo kids Center
Since 2018, the Orutindo Center has been used exclusively by the Orutindo Kids Foundation for the benefit of children. Some children live here permanently because they have no other place to live, while others stay temporarily when they are sick or urgently need shelter.
Ameria Niwahereza serves as the house mother, and the children take an active role in managing the center. Currently, 40 children receive financial support, which covers their school fees, supplies, medical expenses, food, clothing, and more.
Most of the children are either orphans or have been abandoned by their parents. The center provides a safe environment where they can live, play, read, tend to the garden, and engage in various activities. Our volunteers also reside at the center.
Education Center IEICI
IEIC stands for “INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION AND INFORMATION CENTRE” and opened in 2012. The house is a large oval structure built in traditional mud construction and its primary purpose is to provide education to orphans.
The goals of this project are education and cultural exchange, preservation and promotion of local culture as well as promotion of an internationalist worldview through information.
Uganda is a country with a very large number of orphans and the average age of the population is between 16 and 17. We want to promote the potential of this young people with this educational center! Our library provides access to knowledge without any preconditions and regardless of social, economic, or cultural background. We also offer computer courses, thereby facilitating intercultural exchange and international understanding.
The supporting association “ORUTINDO” is sponsoring the project. Education is the fundamental wealth of every human being – despite immense diversity, however, every type of education always needs to be enriched by others.
